Home Grown Pizza - Best in Morgantown for Salad, Pizza, and Sandwiches!

Have to give a shout out to one of our favorite local pizza shops!!! HomeGrown Pizza is located in Morgantown, WV off I-68, Exit 9 Sabraton. They are the recipients of The BOM AWARD for best pizza place in Morgantown for the past 5 years!!! They specialize in unique, artisan creations. They pride themselves on using local farm grown products and many of their toppings are homemade & fresh dough is made daily. And the bonus is all of the DELICIOUS HOMEMADE DESERTS! Tonight we built our own pies. The first one is pepperoni, meatballs, and mushrooms with their house made red sauce. The second one is prosciutto, mushrooms, and caramelized onions on their house made white sauce. Both were EXCELLENT!!! Now for the deserts…we opted for a slice of banana pudding cheesecake, a piece of strawberry pretzel salad (a Pittsburgh Favorite), a peanut butter cream cannoli, a nutter butter, & a chocolate chunk cookie. Yes, we enjoy our sweets if you find yourself in the area, give them a try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!!!

They exceeded my expectations! I am not from this state but am doing an externship in the area. I was recommended to try this place as it’s a great local option for food and wow I loved it! The staff was so nice and double checked I had everything before I left the building. The cannolis were great and the pizza is perfect; great bread, toppings are fun, and the cheese to sauce ratio is just right.

Me and my friends just stopped in for the first time to give this place a try. Not only did we love everything from the service to the atmosphere but most importantly the food was amazing! We definitely will be back and this is our pizza place from now on!

Plant based pizza and fried mushrooms for me. Hubby got the Angus steak hoagie with homemade chips. Absolutely yummy This was our second visit to Homegrown . We will definitely be going back

Visited on 7/20/23 Homegrown Pizza has been a long talked about location for good food. Known for their locally sourced products and organic foods, they provide flavor and good service to their customers. While the location is small, they manage to offer several options for lunch and dinner. Our first visit, we dined in. The A/C in the front must have been broken. In preparation to leave after our meals, we discovered another room back by the bathrooms that was cooler. Staff were helpful and kind. The lady who served us even cracked some jokes.

We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni on the whole pie, half with sausage and half with red onion. We also tried the fried pepperoni roll—absolutely delicious and a must-try. I brought a friend with me, and we both loved everything about the experience. The atmosphere was lively but well-managed, and the service was prompt. The food came out in great time. The pizza looked amazing and tasted just as good—perfectly cooked and served piping hot. Overall, a fantastic place. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Went in for the Pepperoni Rolls, we got 2. 1 heated, 1 deep fried. both Delicious!! Also ordered the Caprese Salad & a Specialty Pizza which were also amazing! Cook time took a minute but not complaining when everything is super fresh!! Will definitely visit again! Super friendly staff!! Brownie Bottom Cheesecake - AMAZING!!

Atmosphere- 4 stars- would be so easy to pass this place up if you weren’t looking. Very nondescript- just a very basic building in the side of the road. However!! The inside is very cool. Not very big but packs alot of WV creativity. There are some tables and a few bar back stools. Very clean. You have to look around to see some interesting things. My favorite were the cheese grater lights hanging from the barn like ceiling. This is a local pizza restaurant that you can tell takes pride in their business. Service- 4 stars- very friendly staff. We were taken care of by at least three different employees- each making sure we had what we needed. Food- 4 stars- started off with the Home Grown Potato Chips- these came in an assortment of flavors- we got the basic sea salt and they were sooo good!! Freshly made- not oily at all- just crispy goodness- came with a couple sides of ranch for dipping. We also got a medium Pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and banana peppers- not the best pizza I had ever had but still good- I prefer a more NY style this is more of what I describe as a Neapolitan style pizza- not thin or thick just in between. It was very filling. They also have a display case of different deserts that looked awesome. From German chocolate cake to different cheese cakes and even a strawberry pretzel salad which I don’t see in restaurants too often. Wanted to try something but was stuffed. Definitely recommend a stop here!!
